Preparing for November firearm deer season can be daunting. Join experienced deer hunters to learn about personal preparedness, safety, and to learn a few tips and tricks. Whether you're new to deer hunting, or experienced, there is always something new to learn.

Ladies Hunting Cohort - Rifle Sight In Night

Participants will learn how to properly sight in their rifles for accuracy and confidence in the field. This class is setting you up for rifle deer season. Instructors will cover firearm safety, shooting fundamentals, and how to adjust scopes or sights for precision. This hands-on session is designed for women of all experience levels who want to improve their marksmanship. Rifle and ammo are not provided, participants must bring their own. Participants are welcome to come and go as their schedule allows, and are not required to attend the entire event. Shooting will take place 3:30-5:15, but additional help will be available until the range closes at 7:00.

$10 cash fee to be paid upon arrival at the range.

It’s ladies’ night—archery style! Whether you’re a first-time shooter or a seasoned pro, come make your mark and have a blast with bows, arrows, and good company. The evening gathering will be about fellowship, laughter and a little learning on the indoor archery range.

All women, 18th and older interested in learning more about Becoming an Outdoors-Woman, Ladies Hunting Cohort or Women's archery groups are encourage to attend.

Pre-registration is $5 for Turpin members and $10 for non members.

Enjoy the revitalizing fresh air of a winter's day on a trail at Schramm State Recreation Area. Hike the trail with BOW as we view wildlife and other beautiful scenes. The trail will take us to a campfire ring to warm up and bake Dutch oven pies. Hike to pie turns into a PIKE!

Meet at the Schramm Education Center.

Registration and $15 fee is required prior to event.

Summer Shooting Series - Introduction to Archery

Join other women for this archery series workshop series for women, taught by women on Wednesday, May 12, 19 & 26 | 6-8 pm at the Outdoor Heritage Education Complex at Platte River State Park. This class will lead you through the basics of archery, handling and technique by shooting bullseyes and 3D targets. Archery develops strong problem solving skills, increases focus and determination, builds confidence and creates lifetime friendships.

Participants may bring their own bows with instructors permission.

The $25 fee covers all three dates.
