A hunter education focused weekend designed to give women the chance to learn the basics of hunter safety and gain firsthand firearm and archery experience in a fun, safe environment. Basic hunter education course material will be taught through simulated hunting situations, live fire exercises, education and responsibility activities. Workshops will be led by women who are experienced hunters and certified volunteer hunter education instructors.
All equipment, including archery and firearms will be provided.
Hunter Education certificate will be given at the end of the weekend.

A fishing education evening focused on women to learn and experience fishing. The evening will include basics: selecting a beginner's fishing equipment, baiting a hook (squeamish about worms? Don't worry, we have alternative bait for you), casting a line, and releasing the fish safely back into their habitat. All equipment and bait will be provided for the evening full of fun, fellowship, and females fishing.

The evening will include: identifying types of fish, selecting bait, selecting equipment for a type of fish, finding your fishing hole, cleaning panfish, and cooking a panfish over an open campfire with plenty of time left to actually fish! All equipment and bait will be provided for the evening full of fun, fellowship, and females fishing

Highly anticipated Ladies Day on the Range event isn’t just about hitting targets; it’s about equipping women with knowledge and skills to feel confident and secure operating a firearm or archery equipment. Throughout the event, participants can try archery, .22 rifles or handguns. The day is designed to blend education, camaraderie and fun! Certified instructors will provide participants with a solid understanding of safety, aiming techniques, and firing basics. Whether you’re a seasoned shooter or new, our welcoming atmosphere and expert instruction will ensure an unforgettable experience for women of all skill levels.
Equipment and materials will be available to try or participants may bring their own. Ranges will vary on which firearm and archery is offered that day.

Nebraska Becoming an Outdoors (BOW) BOW Weekend Workshop, a program through the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, is cornerstone event, held annually on the first weekend in October. This three-day workshop includes sessions taught by expert instructors in a supportive environment conducive to learning, making friends and having fun! Participants complete four sessions of their choosing.
Registration will open on April 1 for first time participants, and any repeat participants who bring a new participants. The repeat participant must register on the same day as their invited new participant, and list each other as roommates. Failure to register to follow this guideline will result in automatically deleting past participants.
Repeat participants without a first-time participant guest may beginning registering on May 23, 2025.
